I remember Tata Coco, aunt and godmother, most clearly in our summers together as a girl. She used to drive me crazy in a way that felt perfectly natural and in the most loving way. She was a second mom when I was away from home, steady, patient and endlessly giving to me. She taught me to love being in the kitchen and to hide my purse on the subway. I used to count the days until I could come home, but deep down I always loved being there. Those weeks became the kind of memories that shape you. I cherish those summers and carry them with me forever. I will miss you my Tata Coco.

J’ai de vous, un souvenir très précis, dans la chambre d’hôpital d’Emmanuelle quand elle était encore dans le coma. Vous étiez d’une sérénité et d’une confiance incroyables. Aujourd’hui je comprends que c’est votre foi inébranlable qui vous portait et qui vous rassurait sur le fait qu’Emmanuelle allait rouvrir les yeux alors que le diagnostic était loin d’être positif. Que cette foi vous porte au Paradis et vous donne enfin l’apaisement de toute une vie. Merci Nicole, je ne vous oublierai jamais. Sophie
